The Levy Family’s Story
Arlene and Mitch Levy are Weston, Florida residents since 1992, having long enjoyed taking photographs of their son Jonathan’s childhood, family celebrations, vacations and special events. Of special significance, Arlene had old photo proofs from Jonathan’s Bar Mitzvah at B’nai Aviv Congregation decades ago. Their son is now in his 30s with a successful career in Hollywood as the CEO of Animaze animation distribution company and Immerse Yourself Entertainment after a long-time career as an agent at United Talent Artists (UTA).
Jonathan’s Hollywood-themed Bar Mitzvah party showed his early love of film, and the event photos captured beloved family and friends, some of whom are now deceased. Arlene and Mitch wanted to preserve and share these priceless memories, as Arlene shares:
“I was especially interested in how easy RKVIST seemed. I said to myself, ‘I’m gonna do this.’”
“It occurred to me that we have so many family members who have passed away over the years. Jonathan’s Bar Mitzvah was such a special moment because both Mitch and my parents were there, and unfortunately passed away shortly thereafter. I thought this would be the perfect way to remember the memories of a joyous occasion when our family and our friends were together.”
Solution
Arlene selected a collection of photos from the original proofs. The Levy’s photos never left RKVIST’s hands, as they utilized industry best practices so that each photo was:
- Handled with white gloves and dusted before scanning
- Scanned at 600 DPI high-resolution
- Edited for red-eye removal, color and lighting enhancements
- Organized into a central location and renamed from the date scanned and meta-tagged to include the date the photo was originally taken and occasion – for easy searches
Results
When Arlene looks at the Bar Mitzvah photos, she shares, “It’s hard to believe he had just turned 13 in these photos and now he’s in his 30’s. When I look at the RKVIST scans, I can’t believe how clear and vibrant the pictures are. It feels as if we’re right back at that occasion and brings back a flood of wonderful memories.”
